We offer a range of police topics specifically designed to strengthen management skills while developing a sense of leadership, teamwork and excellence
Topics for the newly promoted, or the soon to be promoted, supervisor. We emphasize the transition to supervisor and build a base of skills for the new first line supervisor. This is the most important promotion in a police leader’s career and we believe in starting them off on the right foot. Our Performance Management and associated modules provide a basis for the supervisor to establish strong productive relationships with each of their subordinates as well as tips on managing problem and troubled employees.
- Introduction to Management Philosophy
- Transitioning to Supervisor
- Performance Management
- Supervising the Problem or Troubled Employee
Police Management and Administration for the experienced police leader. We have created a series of management topics that we believe are the most important to supervisor and manager success. We have purposely not included managerial courses that are readily available elsewhere and have focused on areas that develop stronger police leaders. Our philosophy is to tie our career development topics directly to the managerial functions actually performed in the field. Our simulated exercises in our Mock Assessment Center are grounded in the same management theory and practice presented in our classes. We occasionally add a third day of the Commander’s Retreat to present modules and topics from our Community Policing Leadership Series. It is our very best bargain.

Our Community Policing Training is organized around the latest cutting edge thinking in the industry. We are focused on moving beyond the philosophy of Neighborhood Policing and into the actual implementation of specific strategies to build mutual trust between the police and the communities that they service. We are uniquely positioned to assist the management team of the police agency as well as the public officials and community leaders that serve alongside them.
Bobcat Training offers a range of topics which make up the core of elements critical to Community Policing and the Building of Community Trust. Several of our topics were developed by the COPS Office. Others reflect policies and procedures that have demonstrated better community engagement and reduced crime. During the class, we host a “Town Hall Lunch” with a guest expert presenter. We invite local police, government and community leaders to share the experience with us.

Community Policing Leadership Workshop for Police and Community Leaders
Bobcat facilitated workshops are created for police and community leaders to discuss ways in which to build better bonds while also improving crime reduction strategies.
Public Officials & Community Leaders
Government and community leaders all have a vested interest in the performance of their police agencies. They also have important roles to play in the evolution of community policing. Bobcat Training, through our Community Policing Leadership Series, also facilitate community based workshops designed to inform neighborhoods of the best police – community partnerships and agency practices that improve transparency and mutual trust while reducing crime.
The Community Policing Leadership Workshop is where we place the "community" into community policing. Bobcat workshops are created for police and community leaders to discuss ways in which to build better bonds while also improving crime reduction strategies.
Our Transformational Police Leader topics provide a platform from which we launch our workshopsand move community policing from the theoretical to the practical. These topics reflect the Three Pillars of Community Policing: Partnerships, Problem Solving and Organizational Transformation.
We know how to breathe life into community policing planning. While police departments are working their way through the most recent research and findings about community policing, including the work being done by the President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing, we believe that governments and communities can benefit most by understanding the plans to implement them. It is essential that our community partners are grounded in the same understanding and beliefs so that they might better fulfill their roles in the partnership.
We would very much like to reach through your associations, organizations and networks to reach other public and community leaders who are also interested in being nationally recognized communities advancing improved police – community relationships.
